Joint Felicitation Ceremony Honors Hon. Saraswati Lama Hyolmo and NEFIN Chairperson Nima Lama Hyolmo

On the auspicious occasion of the 2570th Buddha Jayanti, commemorating the Birth, Enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana of Lord Buddha, a Joint Felicitation and Honor Ceremony was successfully organized by the Nepal Hyolmo Social Service Association (Hyolmo Association), Hyolmo Social Service Center (Hyolmo Gumba), and the Nepal Hyolmo Women Association.
The ceremony was held to honor two distinguished leaders of the Hyolmo community: Hon. Saraswati Lama Hyolmo who was recently elected as a Member of the House of Representatives of Nepal and Mr. Nima Lama Hyolmo who was elected as the Federal Chairperson of the Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) with an overwhelming majority during its 11th National Convention.
The event took place at the Hyolmo Gumba Hall bringing together Hyolmo intellectuals, respected Lama Gurus, representatives of various organizations, community leaders, professionals and members of the Hyolmo community. Their presence reflected the community’s unity, pride and collective commitment to celebrating outstanding leadership and service.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Urgen Hyolmo, Treasurer of Hyolmo Gumba and was skillfully moderated by Ms. Dolma Kumari Hyolmo, General Secretary of Hyolmo Gumba.
The ceremony was chaired by Ms. Renzen Dolma Hyolmo, Central President of the Nepal Hyolmo Social Service Association. The event was further graced by Mr. Pasang Hyolmo, President of Hyolmo Gumba and Mr. Kinjo Omu Hyolmo, Central President of the Nepal Hyolmo Women Association who represented the organizing institutions.
As a mark of appreciation and respect, Hon. Saraswati Lama Hyolmo and Mr. Nima Lama Hyolmo were presented with Special Recognition Certificates, a statue of Lord Buddha and traditional Khata scarves. Members of the Hyolmo community also offered Khata to the honorees, expressing their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for continued success in their leadership and service.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment among participants to strengthen unity, preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Hyolmo people, and encourage greater representation and leadership of Indigenous communities at the national level.
