Health Awareness

& Preventive Care

Bringing Knowledge, Screening and Answers Closer to Home

We work to close gaps in basic health information, early diagnosis, and preventive care for women and community members in Hyolmo communities.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Health care should be

closer to home.

Many women and community members lack access to basic health information, early diagnosis, and preventive care — a gap we work directly to close. In many Hyolmo communities, the nearest hospital or specialist can mean a long journey down mountain trails, a cost few families can absorb easily, and time away from work or family that many simply can't spare.

Our Approach

Catch health concerns sooner, closer to home.

Our health programs bring awareness, screening, and opportunities to ask questions directly to the communities that need them.

OUR HEALTH PROGRAMS COVER

Knowledge, prevention and early action.

Our activities focus on practical knowledge, leadership, rights, participation, and community action.

01

Cancer Awareness & Early Detection

Helping community members recognize early warning signs and understand the value of screening, since cancer caught early is far more treatable than cancer caught late.

02

Kidney Health & Disease Prevention

Raising awareness of the everyday habits and warning signs connected to kidney health, an often-overlooked area of preventive care.

03

Female Reproductive & General Health

Providing women with accurate, judgment-free information about reproductive and general health, filling a gap that stigma and distance often leave open

04

Nutrition & Food Consciousness

Building practical awareness of nutrition and healthy eating habits, tailored to the foods and routines already part of daily life in Hyolmo households.

05

Mental Well-Being

Creating space to talk openly about mental health — a subject too often left unspoken — and connecting community members with support and resources.

06

Free Blood Pressure & Blood Sugar Screening

Offering no-cost screening for two of the most common — and most manageable, when caught early — chronic health conditions.

HOW WE DELIVER IT

Community health camps that bring care closer.

Through one-day community health camps, we bring certified doctors directly to Hyolmo communities — combining expert-led awareness sessions with free screenings and open Q&A, so families leave with both knowledge and answers

WHY IT MATTERS

Informed

communities can

act earlier.

Preventive care is quietly one of the most effective forms of healthcare: a five-minute blood pressure check or a conversation about warning signs can be the difference between managing a condition and being blindsided by it years later.

For communities where a doctor's visit is otherwise a rare and difficult undertaking, bringing that care directly to the village — free of cost and free of stigma — changes what's actually possible for families to know and do about their own health.
