Meaningful Participation of the Hyolmo Community at the Nepal Indigenous Knowledge Conference 2082 On the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities (NFDIN), Government of Nepal, and the Nepal Indigenous Knowledge Conference (25–27 Magh 2082 B.S.) the Hyolmo community made a meaningful contribution through active participation and representation. During the conference, Mr. Kinjo Omu Hyolmo, a Member of the Governing Council of the National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities (NFDIN), Central Advisor of the Nepal Hyolmo Social Service Association and Central President of the Nepal Hyolmo Women Association served as the Master of Ceremonies (MC) in the Hyolmo mother tongue highlighting the importance of preserving and promoting Indigenous languages in national forums. The conference also witnessed the active and meaningful participation of representatives from both the Nepal Hyolmo Social Service Association and the Nepal Hyolmo Women Association ndemonstrating the Hyolmo community’s continued commitment to safeguarding Indigenous knowledge, language, culture and identity while contributing to national dialogue on Indigenous peoples’ rights and heritage. The participation of the Hyolmo community reflected its dedication to promoting cultural diversity, preserving traditional knowledge and strengthening the representation of Indigenous peoples at the national level.
