Current and Proposed Program

The Integrated Community Wellness Program is a comprehensive initiative combining GEDSI awareness, health education, yoga, taichi and institutional development - designed to support 300 participants, especially women, elderly persons, persons with disabilities, youth and local leaders.

What We Do

Nepal Hyolmo Women Association works across six thematic areas to advance women's empowerment, community health, social inclusion and cultural preservation. Every program is designed to be accessible - welcoming women, youth, elders and persons with disabilities alike.

Women's Empowerment

We create platforms for Hyolmo women to build confidence, leadership skills, and a stronger voice in family, community and public decision-making.

Economic participation programs
National movements participation
Community dialogues
Women's rights education
Leadership development sessions
Legal awareness workshops

Health Awareness & Preventive Care

Health awareness is one of our core priorities. Many women and community members lack access to basic health information, early diagnosis and preventive care - a gap we work directly to close.

Mental well-being
Free BP & blood sugar screening
Cancer awareness & early detection
Kidney health
Nutrition
Reproductive & general health

Through one-day community health camps, we bring certified doctors directly to Hyolmo communities - combining expert-led awareness sessions with free screenings and open Q&A. So families leave with both knowledge and answers.

GEDSI — Gender Equality, Disability & Social Inclusion

GEDSI sits at the heart of everything we do, guided by the principle of "Leave No One Behind." We work to ensure that women, persons with disabilities, elderly persons, youth and socially marginalized groups are included in community activities, services and decision-making spaces.

Community-based organizations & teachers
Persons with disabilities & caregivers
Local leaders & ward officials
Social workers & change agents

Yoga, Taichi & Wellness

We promote holistic well-being through yoga, breathing exercises, meditation, and taichi — practices that support physical fitness, mental peace, stress reduction, flexibility and emotional resilience

Our sessions are intentionally inclusive, welcoming beginners, women balancing heavy household and caregiving responsibilities, elderly participants and those with limited mobility. Guided by certified instructors, our week-long community yoga camps combine daily practice with basic health education and preliminary health check-ups.

Institutional Development

Strong communities need strong institutions. We support local women's groups with hands-on training so community-based organizations led by Hyolmo women are equipped to sustain themselves, attract partnerships, and lead development in their own communities

Financial management & transparency
Leadership & governance
Organizational planning
Proposal writing & resource mobilization

Culture & Identity

Our identity is our foundation. We actively support efforts to preserve Hyolmo language, traditional knowledge, oral history, spiritual practice and cultural festivals - ensuring that empowerment and modern development never come at the cost of who we are.

Every program is shaped by the real needs of Hyolmo women and their families - not designed from the outside in. That's why they work.
